Welcome back to Weekend Driver! We’ve got an auction-heavy issue today so let’s jump in so you can get to bidding 😉
1995 Toyota Supra (MkIV Twin-Turbo 6MT)
Mileage: 65,717
Price: $95,800
VIN: JT2JA82J6S0025292
Link: Chicago Motor Cars
Get ready to live out all of your Brian O’Conner fantasies, granny shifting, not double clutching like you should. Chicago Motor Cars is offering this gorgeous Renaissance Red over tan 6 speed, twin-turbo MkIV Supra for nearly $100k. At that price I think the mileage is a bit high but the car shows very well considering. It’s a sellers’ market for these cars and clean, stock examples do not come up every day. If you’ve been on the hunt this is one worth checking out.
2001 Honda S2000
Mileage: 24,000
Price: Auction Ending Monday June 8, 2020
VIN: JHMAP11461T003975
Link: Bring a Trailer
All Honda’s look best in white and the S2000 is no exception. Everyone should own one of these because the fun per dollar simply cannot be beat. This Grand Prix White over red/black example looks great and is being offered by a seemingly honest seller who has gone through significant effort to point out minor imperfections on an otherwise perfect car. Some minor surface corrosion is pictured as well as a handful of light modifications which should result in a pretty good deal for the winning bidder.
1995 Ferrari F355 Challenge
Mileage: ~229 engine hours
Price: Auction Ending Thursday June 11, 2020
VIN: ZFFPR41A4S0104210
Link: Bring a Trailer
Who wouldn’t want to do a few track days in a Ferrari Challenge car? Adding to the appeal we have one of the best sounding Ferrari’s of all time and the last Ferrari Challenge car to offer a manual transmission. Time to put your money where your “save-the-manuals” mouth is. I don’t presume to be an expert in this territory but this car seems to be well maintained with an extensive service history available and the most recent engine rebuild in 2014.
1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition
Mileage: 42,000
Price: Auction Ending Thursday June 11, 2020
VIN: ZFFPR41A4S0104210
Link: Bring a Trailer
The Zanardi Edition NSX is the most desirable variant of the USDM NSX with only 51 produced and those numbers dwindling with examples being crashed and modified. Sadly this one seems to have suffered some unfortunate fate as was uncovered by the sleuths in the BaT comments. Prompted by the commenterss the seller had an independent inspection done which revealed evidence of a serious rear end repair. My guess is that this won’t meet the reserve but if you’re not scared by the unknown history this could be a rare chance at getting a “deal” on a Zanardi.
2006 BMW M6
Mileage: 13,000
Price: Auction Ending Thursday June 11, 2020
VIN: WBSEH93456B797658
Link: Bring a Trailer
Wrapping up this issue we’ve got a pair of V10 BMW’s. The first is this M6 featuring the notorious slushbox SMG transmission but only showing 13k miles. The motor is the reason to buy this one, that S85 V10 sounds like a Formula 1 car when you let it breathe. It’s worth noting this sold just last year on BaT for $33k before fees and I think it’s a fair assumption to say this will end in the same ballpark. Buy it, manual conversion, straight pipes, and drive it!
2007 BMW M5 6MT
Mileage: 86,000
Price: Auction Ending Thursday June 11, 2020
VIN: WBSNB93547CX07308
Link: Bring a Trailer
Rounding out the BMW V10 pair is this M5 that comes fitted with a proper manual gearbox! It does have almost 90k miles and shows no record of having its rod bearings serviced. While the S85 sounds amazing it loves to eat those bearings.. I’d encourage prospective buyers to absolutely budget for that service and if you bring it home get that done ASAP.
